Assessment
A speech and language assessment is a face to face session or series of sessions where a speech-language pathologist completes an evaluation of your child's communication skills. This includes social interaction, understanding of language, language use, clarity, stuttering, voice, literacy and oral motor ability. Information is gained through completion of standarized tests, parent and caregiver report and clinical interaction. Recommendations and an action plan are then developed by the speech-language pathologist and the family.
